The 2019 edition of the well-renowned awards event, SBC Awards, was held in London at the beginning of December, where a total of 34 different companies were awarded for their performances during the year. The number of companies awarded was a record for this Sports Betting Community award, and saw LeoVegas and Bet365 at the top, taking home the most anticipated titles of the night.
When it comes to casinos, there is no doubt that LeoVegas has done an outstanding job during the year, which is an opinion that the voters also seemed to agree on. The Casino Operator of the Year award did indeed go to the Swedish online casino giant LeoVegas, and they even managed to take home the prize for Innovation in Casino Entertainment as well.
For the sixth consecutive year, Bet365 got the call to come up on stage to accept the award for Sportsbook of the Year. 2019 has been a big year for Bet365, as they also received awards for Football Sportsbook of the Year and Best Affiliate Programme.
And it wasn’t only these two massive online gambling companies that managed to take home more than one award during the SBC Awards 2019. Betradar received a whopping three awards, Best Live Streaming Product, Best Virtual Football Product and Best Sports Data Product. The payment solution provider Trustly also bagged multiple wins with their awards for Payments Innovation of the Year and Payment Solution of the Year.
Affiliates work hand-in-hand together with online casinos to make sure that the igaming industry remains an interesting, exciting and also a safe space for operators and players alike, and three operators were awarded for their outstanding work on the affiliation side of the market. Better Collective took home the Sports Affiliate of the Year award, while Catena Media received the Casino Affiliate of the Year prize. Finally, 1XBet was awarded the Best Affiliate Product Innovation prize.
Managing Director at SBC Andrew McCarron said:
“Congratulations to all the winners selected by our voters and judging panels. We had a record number of entries this year, and the quality of them was hugely impressive, so the victors had to be truly exceptional to stand out from the other contenders.
The operational excellence, innovation and commitment to driving up standards demonstrated by the award winners and shortlisted companies is a positive sign for the future of the industry, and we’re excited to see what further developments they come up within 2020.”
