According to the latest news updates, Nevada’s Gaming Control Board has recommended that a new gaming venue be approved for its license. Earlier this month, the board met and unanimously agreed that Resorts World Las Vegas, currently under construction, should receive its gaming license. The hotel-casino project is worth $4,3 billion and can be found on the Las Vegas Strip. The Nevada Gaming Commission is set to discuss the approval of the venue’s licensing on the 20th of May.
Two board members have shared that the marketing used for Resorts World was impressive and has led to excitement. Phil Katsaros, Board Member, stated that he was blown away at the advertisement which aired during the Oscars on ABC. It is believed that Katsaros has recently been to tour the hotel and casino.
The ad he is referring to lasts about 30 seconds and reminds guests to stay fabulous. Resorts World hired big-time industry names and faces such as Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Luke Bryan, Zell and Katy Perry to feature in the ad. The performers who participated in the ad are expected to perform at the new venue after its opening takes place. According to the venue’s management, this is scheduled for the 24th of June as long as they receive their gambling license.
Resorts World’s vice president of marketing, Alana Litavis, stated that the advert was created with vegas-izing the Resorts World brand and capturing people’s attention. As such, the marketing team felt that integrating well-known faces into the property’s story was the best way to go about it.
The newest member to the board, Brittnie Watkins, shared the same sentiments as Phil Katsaros and stated that she found the marketing and the promise of the venue to be impressive. However, the ad got some mixed reviews on social media. One viewer stated that the commercial was bizarre while another was excited at the prospect of Katy Perry making her way to the Strip.
Located near Circus Circus and close to where Stardust once was, Resorts World Las Vegas is a hotel-casino with 3,506 rooms to accommodate guests, tourists, convention goers and gamblers. The venue will be a limited-smoking one, with smoking only being allowed on the gaming floor, according to Scott Sibella, the president of Resorts World.
The venue will be home to 40 beverage and food locations. This includes a vegan ice cream shop from Los Angeles and a Taiwanese shop called Tiger Rush that serves authentic bubble tea. The hotel section of Resorts World will offer guests their choice of three Hilton-branded accommodations. Each of these options will have separate lobbies and entrances. In addition to this, guests who opt to stay at Resorts World will be privy to the Hilton Honours reward program.
Shopping, gaming, relaxing and dining loyalty points can also be earned through Genting rewards. This is the loyalty program for the venue’s owner, the Genting Group, based in Malaysia. Resorts world will be home to the largest pool deck in the city and the only infinity-style pool to be offered on the Strip. The property, and its management, has gone above and beyond to ensure that their services are accessible to everyone by going into partnership with a crypto exchange called Gemini. This means that guests will be allowed to use their Gemini wallets at the resort.
Resorts World will be the first integrated hotel and casino to open its doors on the Las Vegas Strip since the Cosmopolitan’s launch in 2010. Resorts world is on the north-west while the Cosmopolitan is on the west side close to the Bellagio.
Once Resorts World receives the necessary licensing and approvals and can open its doors, the venue will serve as part of the Strip revival. Other projects contributing to this revival are the proposed construction of a sporting arena and the introduction of a non-gaming entertainment and hotel complex located close to the Sahara Las Vegas. These two venues will be constructed on 27 acres of vacant land.
In addition to this, a development duo recently proposed the construction of a new restaurant and retail complex. This would be built on the west of the Strip, closer to CityCentre and the iconic location where the Tower of Pizza used to be.
